Singer Bruno Mars has been formally charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance following his cocaine-related arrest last month in Las Vegas.
He was arrested on September 19 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino when a bathroom attendant told security that he brought what looked like a "baggie of white powdery substance" into the stall with him.
If he's convicted, Mars can serve up to four years in jail and receive fines up to $5,000. He doesn't have any previous arrests so jailtime is less likely.
With the success of his collaboration on "Billionaire" with Travie McCoy, he should really not follow in the footsteps of Lindsay and Paris...he actually had something going for him. Now, I'm not so sure.
His record company Elektra seems to have his back. According to TMZ, they said, "We congratulate Bruno Mars on his chart-topping success, and provide him with our full love and support." Sounds more like a statement for a new record, not an arrest.
